WA MUSIC WEEK SHOWCASE 2025

Kimberley Sounds

As part of WA Music Week, Kimberley Sounds will presented a dedicated showcase at the Gimme Club, Goolarri Media’s venue in Broome, spotlighting emerging and beginner artists from remote Kimberley communities. This event is a collaboration between First Block Sounds and WAM, designed to elevate musicians who have been involved in First Block Sounds’ development programs.

The event featured live performances from six selected Kimberley artists, offering them a professional platform to share their work with a broader audience. These artists will also have the opportunity to engage in industry-facing events, gaining insight into the music sector and expanding their networks within the Kimberley and beyond.

By hosting the showcase in Broome, Kimberley Sounds remains rooted in the region it represents—ensuring accessibility, cultural relevance, and strong community connection. The long-term goal is to establish these showcases as an annual WA Music Week highlight, with continued backing from WAM through promotional support and artist exposure.

WA MUSIC WEEK 2026

Larrkardi Sound

In 2026, DMAC/6DBY Larrkardi Radio also partnered with First Block Sounds to present Larrkardi Sound as part of WA Music Week. The event celebrated music, culture and community through performances by Dreamers, DULNGA, Ishmael Barunga, Kallum Mungulu and S.J. Nulgit.

Each featured performer had been involved in the Larrkardi Sound Project at DMAC/6DBY, demonstrating the connection between artist development, recording, broadcasting and live performance.
